Give Thanks

Give Thanks

At the Jefferson County Library Foundation, we are fortunate to work with such wonderful people. There's an abundance of spirit, infectious optimism and boundless enthusiasm. We are thankful for:

  • Our donors, who enable all of the good work that we do.
  • Our Friends, who support the work of the Library and the Library Foundation every day!
  • Our Traveling Children's Library that delivers early literacy programs and resources to more than 1,100 at-risk preschoolers in Head Start and Jeffco Preschool classrooms every year.
  • Our Summer Reading Club, which reaches more than 22,000 children in Jefferson County by challenging and motivating them to strengthen their reading skills throughout the summer months.
  • Our Libraries, which ignite new passion and feed the fires of education, democracy and community throughout Jefferson County.
  • Our volunteers, who contribute time, talent and effort.
  • All of the people we work with, who support our mission and enliven our days.
What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Take the Jeffco Open Space Survey Online Until Dec. 5
This October, Jeffco Open Space sent out a survey to a random sample of people. If you are interested in participating in the survey and were not part of the random sample, you can now participate online through Dec. 5.

Give your opinion on topics such as parks, facilities, programs, trails, management, investment of Open Space funds, communication and values. The online questionnaire is the same as the mailed survey; however results from the online survey will be tallied separately from the random sample.

The online survey will be open for anyone to complete until Monday, Dec. 5, so please take the survey and share your opinions about Jefferson County Open Space today.

Once a final report is complete, survey data and information will be shared on the Jefferson County Open Space website at in February 2012.

Preview JCPL's 2012 Hours
New Hours 2012As you know, JCPL is facing additional budget cuts in 2012. As a result we are making changes to our program of service, including new operating hours. Beginning Jan. 2, the Library will reopen on Mondays; however, the operating hours for each library will be changing. Hours will remain unchanged through the end of 2011.

Learn more about the decision to adjust our hours of operation.

While we know these changes will be difficult, we believe the Library can still deliver a meaningful level of service, while reducing operating costs. As hard as this is, we believe it will allow us to achieve a sustainable solution to get us through the next few years.
