Stranger Awareness and Child Safety with the Arvada PD
With recent tragedies and scares in our communities, the Arvada and Standley Lake Libraries will be partnering with the Arvada Police Department to offer several sessions on stranger awareness and child safety.

Join the Arvada Police Department's Volunteer Child Safety Liaison at one of the following sessions:

Arvada Library
3-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21
6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30
4-5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5
4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13

Standley Lake Library
3-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18

Fall Whale Sale Coming Soon!
TheJefferson County Library Foundation and Friends are hosting their annual Fall Whale of a Used Book Sale Oct. 26-28, 2012, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27, and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. Admission to the sale is free. Special Friends Members Only Preview Night is Oct. 25 from 6-8:30.

Booklovers can dive into a sea of 100,000 gently used books, DVDs, audiobooks and videos with prices from 50 cents to $2.50. You'll be able to find your favorite authors and discover new ones. Teachers, home-school educators and parents find a plethora of books for their in class or home library.

There's lots planned for each day - don't miss out!
