JCPL is pleased to offer internationally acclaimed author Alexander McCall Smith as the speaker at its fourth annual InSight & InPerson Distinguished Author Series, held again this year at the Belmar Center in Lakewood at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3. Alexander McCall Smith has written more than 60 books, but is best known for the internationally acclaimed The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agencyseries which has sold more than 7 million copies throughout the world. The Oct. 3 program will begin at 7 p.m. with a presentation by the author titled "The Very Small Things of Life," followed by a question-and-answer session and a book signing.
