Get connected
The library is now equipped to offer wireless internet for those patrons who prefer to use their own computer. Thanks to a grant from Upper Schuylkill Revitalization, we now have wireless capability within the library. The grant also allowed us to replace four older computers with new desktop pc's. The board of trustees and staff are grateful for this opportunity to further serve the residents of Frackville and the rest of the county.

Changes
Thanks to some matching grants from Upper Schuylkill Revitalization, the library has been able to start work on a few projects that we have been planning for some time. First of all, we have added wireless internet to our list of services. Patrons can now use wireless devices within the library. Also we are changing the face of the library with new windows and doors. Some walls have been removed to open up the front of  the library and allow us to create a new teen/young adult area. The project will take a few more weeks to complete, and then we will announce an open house. In the meantime, stop in and see the work in progress.

Rosetta Stone now available!
The library is happy to announce that we now have the Rosetta Stone language program for Latin American Spanish Level 1 available to patrons. This acclaimed language tool uses computer technology to give the student a first-hand reading, listening, or writing experience. If you need to learn Spanish for your job, an upcoming vacation, or just for fun, come into the library and try it out! Please ask the librarian for assistance, as it requires a special DVD.

Learn the Computer
If you are an adult age 55 or older, we would be glad to help you learn the basics of computer usage. Using the mouse, keyboard, and monitor, using email and the internet, and the basics of MicrosoftWord are some of the topics we'll be covering. Times for the instruction are flexible depending on the demand. If you are interested please call the library at 874-3382. This post is in response to a comment from Matilda. Unfortunately, our system does not allow us to reply to comments. If you want specific information, please use the contact page. That way we get connected to your email! Thanks so much for your interest.
