The Golden Ticket
We are now taking reservations for the library's second annual Golden Ticket Dinner to be held on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the Fountain Springs Country Inn. Each ticket costs $125 and entitles the purchaser to one raffle chance to win, two prime rib dinners and four drinks(choice of beer or wine). Only three hundred tickets will be sold with a grand prize of $2500! Those who attended last year will surely agree that the dinner was delicious and the company was top notch. Also, there is absolutely no conflicting football game this year! Support your library by reserving your ticket today. You can even request your favorite number(first come, first served). Payment is due by January 10, 2009. Call us at 874-3382 for information and reservations, or use our contact page at www.frackvillelibrary.com.
Join us at the Frackville Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 14 from 2-4PM. The parade is bigger and better than ever with floats, bands, horses, and famous cartoon characters. The route begins at the Rite-Aid parking lot and proceeds up Lehigh Avenue, left on Frack St., and left on Center St. ending at the Frackville Community Building (former Elementary Center). Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children in the gym, and refreshments will be served. The parade is sponsored by the Frackville Recreation Board.
Remember a loved one and support your library by buying a light on our Christmas tree. For a donation of $5.00, we will place a memorial bow on the tree in our window. You can also make the donation in your own name or in the name of your family. All proceeds go to the Library's General Fund.
During these hard times, some in our community need a littte extra help. The Frackville Recreation Board is sponsoring a unique opportunity for you to do just that. Visit the Frackville Community Building(former Elementary Center) this week and spend a few minutes viewing a beautiful display of Christmas trees decorated by groups and individuals in the community. While there, you can vote for your favorite tree for a donation of $1.00 or an item of non-perishable food. These donations will go to the Frackville Food Pantry. Voting can be done during business hours of the Borough or in the evening between 6 and 8PM. Voting continues through December 14 after the Christmas Parade.
Sorry to be so behind on the posts lately, but we have lots going on at the library and in the town of Frackville for the Holiday Season, and we've been getting ready! This Saturday, December 13 is our second annual Christmas at the Library Program. Children ages 3-9 and their parents are invited for a puppet show, refreshments, crafts and holiday games from 2-3:30PM. This program is being held in conjunction with the Frackville Christmas Parade (information to follow). If you'd like to attend, please call the library at 874-3382 to register, or use our contact page at www.frackvillelibrary.com.
