Tax Form Central

Did the IRS send you the wrong booklet? Need a special form for some one- time event in the past year? Filing for the first time and need a little information? We can help at your library. The library has a generous supply of income tax forms for both Federal and State filing. If we don't have a form or publication that you need, we can tell you how to get it.  Since our service is intended  for individual filers, we are unable to supply forms for tax professionals.  Call us at 570-874-3382 or use our Contact Page at www.frackvillelibrary.com for more information.

Just finished reading...
The Sally Lockhart Trilogy by Philip Pullman. In this collection of Victorian mysteries, Pullman has created another unforgettable character. Sally Lockhart knows all about accounting, stocks and bonds, and firearms-not the usual talents of young ladies in the 19th century when sewing or drawing was more the norm. Sally's three adventures, The Ruby in the Smoke, The Shadow in the North, and The Tiger in the  Well paint a vivid picture of life in London at a time when the changes brought on by the Industrial Revolution were creating a new modern society. Although these books are to be found in our Junior collection, they can be enjoyed by adults as well.

Power Library Post/Space Age Library
These days most of us are used to finding at least some of our information needs on the computer. But what about reading a book on your computer? Many readers find the idea horrifying, preferring the volume in their hands, cozy in a nice big chair or in bed. If you don't mind the constraints of the computer desk or if you just want to read part of a book, then netLibrary might be what you want. NetLibrary, one of the resources on Power Library provides users with over 12,000 titles(that's almost as many as we have here in our library). You can access the complete book, read it from cover to cover, or search ahead to find  the part you need-and you don't have to leave home to do it. Offerings range from classic fiction to self-help books. Check it out-you may find exactly what you need. For help in accessing Power Library call the library at 874-3382 or use our contact page at www.frackvillelibrary.com.

Costume Party
Do you like costume dramas? Masterpiece Theater is presenting several dramatizations of Jane Austen's novels, many of them new productions. On Sunday, January 13, they will be presenting a new version of Persuasion, Austen's last completed novel.  When Anne Elliot is forced by family pressures to refuse an offer of marriage from a penniless young naval officer, she feels that her chance at happiness has passed. But her one true love returns, rich and ready to settle down. Will the chemistry still be there? Watch and see!

Just a Reminder
As the new year begins, we wanted to remind you about all the programs we have going on here at the library. These programs give you the opportunity to discover new things, meet new people and share in the resources of your library. On Wednesdays our Knitting Group meets and on Thursdays an active Chess Club gathers. Once a month we have a Adult Reading Group discussing a variety of selections. And of course, we can't forget our children's programs, Storytime for ages 3-5 and Adventures with Books for ages 6-9. To hear more about any of these programs or to sign up, call the library at 874-3382 or use our contact page at www.frackvillelibrary.com.
