The City of Modesto has released an initial study/mitigated negative declaration for the Municipal Groundwater Improvement Project.The Project proposes to construct five aquifer recharge basins and accompanying water conveyance support structures in order to improve wellfield optimization and reduce contaminant levels of arsenic, nitrate, and uranium in the City. The California Board of Environmental Safety is accepting comments regarding setting fees related to hazardous waste disposal. The proposed fees include a Facility Fee, Generation & Handling Fee, and Environmental Fee. These proposed rules will appear 19 September at https://oal.ca.gov/emergency_regulations/Emergency_Regulations_Under_Review/ . The proposal may also be reviewed at the Modesto Library.
