Seen in the Library just yesterday were lions, tigers, bears, princesses and ballerinas! It was our traditional procession of very cute and cleverly costumed toddlers and pre-schoolers parading through the Library after the annual Halloween Storytime. What fun!

A refreshingly "green" activity was sighted just this morning down the street, in front of the Hotel Pacific - a landscape worker cleaning up fallen autumn leaves with a blissfully quiet, non-polluting, tool that’s seldom seen these days: a rake!

Another sighting, just in time for Halloween! I walked by what seemed to be an unoccupied table on the Library’s mezzanine. There was a book on the table, and a backpack tucked underneath the empty chair to suggest that there might be someone sitting there, except that there wasn't anyone there.  Then I noticed the title of the book - How to Be Invisible.  Okay, it turned out to be a book about how to protect your identity, but sometimes these things give one pause.
