Last Night's Halloween Extravaganza
What a hoot! Everyone put on their costumes and came on down to the library for an evening of pumpkin painting, scary stories, apple cider, cookies, face painting, games and more! This program was for the whole family! Plenty of pumpkins available for everyone to take one home!

Woodland Dunes 2008 Owlfest a Success!
We got up close to owls and other wildlife at the annual Woodland Dunes 2008, last Saturday morning - 10/18/08. Mark your calendar for the 2009 Owlfest now!
A beautiful Saturday morning, releasing saw-whet owls, getting information on owl habitats and a visit from a red tailed hawk!

Battle of the Boxes - Competition on the Coast, MCLS Champs
Battle of the Boxes - Competition on the Coast, or BOBCO, is a Wii competition between library systems on the western coast of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. The Manitowoc-Calumet Library System Interim Director, Bob Hafeman, wrote the LSTA Grant to make it all happen.
With LSTA Innovative Technology Grant funding the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System, Eastern Shores Library System, Lakeshores Library System and the Kenosha County Library System member libraries each received a Wii and several games, including Guitar Hero. Member libraries held local championships where winners then went on to compete at the system level. Winners from this tourney will then face the winners from the other library systems that will name the ultimate Wii champions on the western coast of Lake Michigan!

TEEN LATE NIGHT FRIDAY!!!!
Friday, October 3, 7:00-11:00 PM
Open to teens in 6th-12th grade only. Join us for an after-hours evening at the library. Computers, video games, snacks & hanging out with friends. Participants must be on time and stay for the entire evening. All participants must have a permission slip to attend the late night. Slips may be picked up at the youth desk the week before. Only 40 spots available! Only one slip will be given to each teen. Emergency number during the late night: 793-7116.
