Carole's Update

The Building Committee was updated January 10th on progress on the new library at 105 W. Boone Street.  A good portion of the structural steel is already in place, and Hilsabeck-Schacht Inc.’s crew is scheduled to begin putting the steel wall studs in place, beginning at the northeast corner,  on Monday, January 14th.  Plywood sheathing to enclose the building will follow the erection of the exterior wall studs.

Roofing materials are already arriving at the building site, and Central States Roofing will be putting the roof in place after the building is sheathed – roofing is currently scheduled to begin the last week of January.

Snow and wind have been a challenge; contractors are working very hard to get the building enclosed so that work can continue inside the exterior walls.  Let’s hope for a mild, dry January!
