Cleveland Museum of Art Presents Italian Art: From Etruscan to Modern
Hudson Library & Historical Society

Thursday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m.
or call (330) 653-6658.

The library, in collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art’s award-winning distance learning program, will present a live, virtual presentation on Italian Art: From Etruscan to Modern. Museum educators will lead a visually rich presentation that provides a survey of Italy’s artistic heritage by exploring why particular subjects were depicted in sculptures, paintings, and decorative arts. Learn how factors such as patronage and subject matter convey some of the ideals and events important to residents throughout Italy in the last two thousand years. The objects shown range from decorative arts made by the ancient Etruscans to a print created by Boccioni, a proponent of the Italian Futurist movement in the early 20th century.

Registration for this free program is required. Participants will be emailed an invitation to meet on Zoom a day before the program. For more information, please email or call the Reference Desk at 330.653.6658 x1010.
