VIRTUAL: Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, “Home Sweet Manor Home”

Join the Hudson Library & Historical Society for a virtual architecture tour with Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Pack your bags to “fly” to England to see the castles that inspired Stan Hywet’s architecture. Then, it’s back to the Manor to discover a few of the features that make the Manor House so special.

Constructed in the years 1912-1915, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is the former country estate of the F.A. Seiberling family. Mr. Seiberling co-founded (with his brother, C.W.) The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1898, and the Seiberling Rubber Company in 1921. In 1957, Stan Hywet became a non‐profit historic estate museum so that the public could benefit from the cultural, educational, and inspirational riches of one of the most significant achievements in architecture and horticulture to come out of America’s Industrial Age. Stan Hywet is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is Akron, Ohio’s oldest National Historic Landmark.

Seats are limited for this event. Registration is required for this event at hudsonlibrary.org. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please email askus@hudson.lib.oh.us or call (330) 653-6658.
