Reader’s Theat
Monday, Jun. 17, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Kids going into grades 2-5 are invited to our Reader’s Theater program! No performance experience of any kind is needed. We will focus on the core elements of reader’s theater – reading aloud with expression and working collaboratively – while also having fun! Registration is required.
 
Lunch Bunch
Tuesday, Jun. 18, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Join us for Lunch Bunch – a weekly program just for children entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024! Bring a sack lunch and a drink each week to enjoy while listening to stories on the patio! Afterwards, we’ll head into the storytime room for early literacy activities, crafts, and games that focus on concepts and skills for school readiness. 

The weekly program dates are on 6 Tuesdays, June 11 – July 16, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Register only once for the entire session. This program is only for children entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024. 

 
Family Fort Night
Thursday, Jun. 20, 5:30p.m.

Families are invited to spend an evening building forts on Thursday, June 20 at 5:30! Bring pillows and blankets to help shape your forts, other building materials will be provided.

Sensory Storytime
Friday, Jun. 21, 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Join us for stories and several fun sensory-based activities geared toward children ages 2-6! This will be a hands-on event outdoors on the back lawn and patio, weather-permitting. (We will be indoors if it rains.) Registration is required for each child attending.
 
DIY French Memo Boar

Tweens and teens going into grades 4 and up can come create a custom board to display pictures and notes. 
 
Summer Comedy Magic
Saturday, Jun. 22, 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Magician Gordon Russ returns to the Hudson Library with his “Summer Comedy Magic Show” on Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. This show is a wonderfully inventive and entertaining program that includes fun magic, audience participation, and lots of laughs. Registration is required.
Exploring the Cultur
Saturday, Jun. 22, 3:00 p.m.
Are you interested in learning more about the various cultures of our world? Join Gabriela, a junior at Hudson High School, with her international friends and have some fun as we learn about the history, food, culture, and languages of different countries across the globe. We will participate in games and crafts, try new foods, and learn phrases in new languages from native speakers as we expand our knowledge of the diverse world we live in and ignite a spark to learn more. For students in grades 2-5. Registration is required. 
Tail Waggin Tutors
Sunday, Jun. 23, 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Kids are invited to visit the library and practice their reading skills with a real dog! All dogs are certified therapy dogs, and they enjoy all types of children’s books! The program is one hour, with 15-minute time slots for each family. We will meet in the children’s department, and you will sign up for a time slot when you arrive. Registration is required once per family.

Reading Buddies
Wednesday, Jun. 26, 2:00 - 3:30 pm
New readers going into Kindergarten to 2nd grade can choose a book and sit with an older student to practice their skills in this cooperative, multi-age program. Sign up for a half-hour time slot and we will pair you with the perfect partner!
This program runs every other week on Wednesday - register for each one separately.
Reading Buddy Helper
Wednesday, Jun. 26, 2:00 - 3:30 pm
Tweens and teens going into grades 5 and up can pair with younger students to help them practice their reading. Sign up for up to 3 half-hour shifts per session.
This program runs every other week during Summer Learning Program - register for each date separately.
DIY Book Nooks
Thursday, Jun. 27, 2:00pm

Tweens and Teens going into grades 4-8 can come and design a bookshelf nook on Thursday, June 27 at 2:00. Materials will be provided.

Nora the Explorer&rs
Friday, Jun. 28, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Learn about animals with Nora the Explorer! Come see furry and scaly animals up close…and maybe even touch them! This is a family event for all ages. Registration is required. This program will be held in the flood room.

Outdoor Adventures
Friday, Jun. 28, 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Kids going into grades 3-5 are invited to learn all about the outdoors in our summer Outdoor Adventures series here at the library! Our three sessions will include outdoor education, outdoor appreciation, and outdoor fun. We’ll learn about nature, birds, plants, camping, and other fun and educational outdoor topics with activities, crafts, and games.

Join us as often as you are able. We will be outside, weather-permitting. Registration is required for each child attending and is separate for each date.
 
Jim Gill’s Sin
Saturday, Jun. 29, 1:00 pm
Don't miss the family concert of the summer with the inimitable Jim Gill!! We will sing and dance and have a general great time on the First and Main Green. The concert will be moved inside the library in case of inclement weather.

Alice’s Advent
Sunday, Jun. 30, 2:00pm

Join us in welcoming the Bright Star Touring Theater as they present their production: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland on Sunday, June 30 at 2:00. This production is best suited for pre-k through grade 5, but all ages are welcome to join us!

Summer Science
Tuesday, Jul. 2, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Kids going into grades K-2 are invited to join us at the library for Summer Science! We will investigate science topics – different each date – and have fun with hands-on activities and experiments. We will be outside, weather-permitting. Registration is required for each child attending.
 
Create Your Own Adve
Monday, Jul. 8, 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Fans of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books will love selecting different paths to alter the stories of classic fairytales. Each kid will have the chance to get creative and design their own scene from various materials to make the new tale come to life.

This program is for grades 4-6 and will be held in the flood room. Registration is required. Also, please note that this is a series program. Please try to attend all 3 sessions.
