For September, the library will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15- October 15) through a community-wide art project. We will be selecting paintings by notable Latino artists such as Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. These paintings will be divided into sections. Participants will be given a specific section of the painting and a blank canvas board to interpret that particular section in the way they choose. We will reassemble the sections into a community-inspired version of the original painting to be displayed at the Library. In our September homeschool space, homeschoolers will be given the opportunity to work on a section of the painting at the library, instead of at home, while socializing with friends. A variety of art supplies will be available, including colored pencils, markers, chalk, crayons, and paint.
