GT-Creative Nature Observation
Saturday, May 13, 1:00 pm
Join us at the Georgetown Library on Saturday, May 13th at 1:00 for a talk on “Creative Nature Observation”. Speaker Gavin Furman from the South Lake Tahoe Library focuses on using science and natural history to drive creative thought about our experiences outdoors, helping to get deeper into imagining the lives and workings of subjects we encounter. Gavin uses his own photography from around Tahoe and blends practical tips on observation and inward interpretation of experiences using the tools of natural history, questioning, and metaphor with selections of illustrative nature poetry and prose. Gavin’s hope is to help people to engage emotionally with natural history and science as we try to foster a sense of community stewardship for our lands.
