Homeschool Survival:
Homeschool Survival: Fire by Friction
North Manchester

Friday, Oct. 11, 2 PM

Fire by friction is an ancient human art and skill that has been a critical component of our survival as species. In this ancestral fire making skills workshop students will get to know some of the plant allies that are necessary to the skill of primitive fire making. Using techniques like hand drill, bow drill, fire plow and fire roll we will be able to not just conceptualize the skill, but also practice and take with us the art of fire making with plants and trees.

Led by Amos Rodriguez, Season 7 contestant from the History Channel’s survival series Alone, this is an amazing opportunity to learn an important ancient skill from an expert woodsman.

Program Cost: Free, sponsored by the Davonne Rogers Lectureship Endowment
