Hosted by EDC Poet Laureate Emeritus Lara Gularte and Author Beverly Parayno; Open Mic and refreshments provided. Don't miss this opportunity to soak in great writing from local talent and share your work in this fun, engaging and inspiring event!

Beatrice Pizer
A student of poetry at the San Francisco Writer’s Studio, Beatrice has a background in the Visual Arts, with an Italian Government Scholarship for Fine Art Painting in Rome. She has an MA in the Psychology of Symbols and was a Creative Writing teacher at the Sacramento Women's Wisdom ARTS program. Her poetry has been published in Chapbook: Lara Gularte and The Poets of The Firehouse Sessions, Cold River Press: ‘Voices Anthology’, and Literary Magazine: ‘Colossus: Body’. Beatrice lives in Placerville where she has a Shamanic Practice and writes poetry and short fiction.

Annette Carasco
Annette Carasco was born and raised in the East Bay. She spent eighteen years in the Midwest before returning to California in 2010. She has loved writing and the written word since she was a small child and for the last year she has been attending class through Ripe Fruit Writing in San Francisco. Her poetry has been published in the Mountain Democrat and she is currently working on a memoir which she hopes to publish in the next year. She currently lives in Diamond Springs with her sister and their two fur babies.
