The Des Moines Public Library offers an index to the Des Moines Register, Des Moines Tribune, and several other publications. The index will indicate in which publication to find the article, but will not provide the full-text of the article. For full-text of articles, please reference this list for availability. The library can also send you copies of articles for a fee. We can assist with locating local articles and obituaries for time periods not covered by our index.

Using the Index:

The keyword search looks for matches in the title of the article, subject headings, and author. It does not search the full text of the articles. If you don’t find a name, try searching by last name only to broaden your search. Please ask a librarian if you need assistance.
