We have extended Mending Club to incorporate a variety of making activities. In an effort to enhance and expand creative projects, we continue to provide a space for mending while offering the opportunity to explore for new creative adventure. Whether you want to mend clothing or textiles, bring work to share, or showcase a project you’re proud of, we welcome you! We also offer supplies for collaging, beading, wool felting, and more.

This program provides a warm and inviting environment for you to explore new materials or continue working on your projects within a community space. It has become a fun hub for collaboration and learning. During our meet-ups, we focus on skill-sharing and exchanging ideas, allowing participants to work on mending or making projects together

Perfect for homeschool families and anyone seeking a vibrant morning social hour, this weekly gathering fosters a child-led, exploratory environment that encourages children to learn and grow through play.
Each session features three engaging zones—movement, building, and art/sensory activities. Children can move freely between stations such as:
Movement: Mats, games for active play.
Build: Magna-tiles, blocks, tents, and DUPLO blocks to spark imagination and construction skills.
Art/Sensory: Rotating craft projects, play dough, slime, and hands-on activities exploring shapes, colors, counting, and patterns.
Sessions meet once a week, on Tuesdays from 10–11am. Our focus is on providing a relaxed space for children to socialize, explore, and discover at their own pace.
*Join us in the Community Room on the third floor* Please note that this program occurs before regular Library hours; elevator access is located at the back of the building.

]]>We are excited to share the (re)launch of our Book Club at the Library! We're embracing a theme centered around shorter literature, typically focusing on books under 250 pages. However, let's not mistake brevity for simplicity; these works often offer profound themes, intricate ideas, and beautifully crafted prose. Join us for an enriching exploration of literature that is both concise and impactful!Some of the future choices are:

May 21st - "In Five Years" by Rebecca Serle
June 18th - "Orbital" by Samantha Harvey

These beloved games were favorites among New York’s youth over 250 years ago and we think you’ll enjoy them too!

]]>Play Hour Social is a welcoming, open-ended playgroup designed for children ages 3 and up, with younger siblings always welcome. Perfect for homeschool families and anyone seeking a vibrant morning social hour, this weekly gathering fosters a child-led, exploratory environment that encourages children to learn and grow through play.
Each session features three engaging zones—movement, building, and art/sensory activities. Children can move freely between stations such as:
Movement: Mats, games for active play.
Build: Magna-tiles, blocks, tents, and DUPLO blocks to spark imagination and construction skills.
Art/Sensory: Rotating craft projects, play dough, slime, and hands-on activities exploring shapes, colors, counting, and patterns.
Sessions meet once a week, on Tuesdays from 10–11am. Our focus is on providing a relaxed space for children to socialize, explore, and discover at their own pace.

However, let's not mistake brevity for simplicity; these works often offer profound themes, intricate ideas, and beautifully crafted prose. Join us for an enriching exploration of literature that is both concise and impactful!Some of the future choices are:

May 21st - "In Five Years" by Rebecca Serle
June 18th - "Orbital" by Samantha Harvey

We also encourage attendees to bring their own book recommendations. These engaging discussions often lead to exciting recommendations for other books, movies, and music, so you’re sure to leave with new titles to add to your reading list!

In an effort to enhance and expand creative projects, we continue to provide a space for mending while offering the opportunity to explore for new creative adventure.
