Program for High School Juniors
Join Stand Out For College, LLC as they offer this Zoom presentation to help high school juniors and their parents understand how to use the upcoming summer productively to create a compelling college application.
The program will cover the college application process, including current admissions trends, writing the personal statement and supplemental essays, securing strong teacher recommendations, and understanding how students can position themselves to increase their chances of admission. It will also explore why a student’s ability to express insights, experiences, and personal growth through their essays is more important than ever.
Topics to be discussed include application strategies, such as the advantages and disadvantages of early decision, early action, and regular decision. We will review the factors students should consider when deciding whether to submit standardized test scores for test optional colleges and universities. They will also explain the different pathways through which students can be admitted to a particular school.
The presentation will examine the holistic admissions review process, what admissions officers consider important when evaluating applicants, and how students can develop a compelling narrative that strengthens their applications.
They will also discuss the importance of community service and how it offers opportunities for personal growth and character development. Admissions officers place significant emphasis on a student’s character and the ways they have contributed to their communities.
This program provides a detailed and strategic overview of what students should focus on to make their college applications as compelling as possible.
The presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jackie Tepper, partners at Stand Out For College, LLC
