This is an important election year for our country and it’s also an election year at the Pawling Library! We invite children and teens to nominate their choice of fictional literary characters for President of the Children’s Collection and President of the Teen Collection.

This writing contest is for grades K-12 with one competition for kids, ages 5 – 10 and one competition for ‘tweens and teens, ages 11 – 18. Each entry must include their nominee; a slogan that identifies their campaign; the campaign’s platform and why you think this character will make a good leader. Nominations are due by October 21 and may be submitted via online or paper form.

The submissions will be voted on by the community through online and paper ballots, October 28 through November 5. The two winners will be announced on November 5.
