Join local author and artist Angelica R. Jackson as she shares how real-life places, like the former Preston School of Industry (aka Preston Castle) in Ione, have shaped her fiction. Angelica's Faerie Crossed series of young adult, urban fantasy novels include a fictional castle based on Preston and the surrounding Mother Lode area. Plus, her ten years of photographing the landmark building led to a book of art photos (along with some ghostly experiences). Her current historical fiction project draws on a legend local to the Block Island area of New England, and a fiery ship that makes its appearance off the rugged coast each year. Join us for a fun and fascinating evening! Free and open to all.
