Gardens with Buzz: G
Gardens with Buzz: Gardening for Wildlife & Certifying Your Yard as Habitat
Virtual

Thursday, May 12, 7pm
Mary Anne Borge will talk about how birds, butterflies, bees, and other critters have evolved together with plants in such a way as to develop mutually beneficial relationships that enable both partners to survive. Learn about some of the best plants to provide food and shelter for these animals, as well as some of the benefits these plants and animals provide for people. This talk is brought to you by the Mendham Township & Washington Township Environmental Commissions who have registered the towns as Community Wildlife Habitat with the National Wildlife Federation. Learn how you can certify your yard and help our town’s become Certified Wildlife Habitats.

Mary Anne Borge is the leader of Lambertville Goes Wild, which led Lambertville, NJ to successful certification by the National Wildlife Federation as a Community Wildlife Habitat in 2019. She is also a freelance naturalist, writer, photographer and educator who teaches classes about native plants, and about the relationships between plants and animals (including humans!).  Mary Anne is an instructor at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, and the Editor of Butterfly Gardener, a magazine published by the North American Butterfly Association. She shares her love of nature at her blog, The Natural Web
