Students going into grades 4 to 9 looking for an opportunity to volunteer this summer can help out in the Children's Dept during the Summer Reading Program "A Universe of Stories."
Participants must attend one of the volunteer training sessions.
Please choose only one session to attend:
Wednesday, 5/29, at 10:00 a.m.
Thursday, 5/30, at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, 6/1, at 1:00 p.m.
Each boot-camp will last 3 hours. The first hour and a half will be focused on training. Tweens will learn how to organize and shelve books in the Children’s section, how to run the Summer Reading Plink-O Game, how to be a “Reading Buddy” and other daily tasks expected of our volunteers. After the training there will have a snack break, and a chance for tweens to make their own custom name tag to wear while they volunteer. The last 30 minutes of boot-camp, Tweens will have the opportunity to sign up for times to work the Plink-O game and sign up to help with special library programs such as Touch-A-Truck, Library Dance Party, and many other events.
This volunteer opportunity is for the duration of Summer Reading Program, June 1 to July 31. Tweens are welcome to volunteer any time the library is open, whenever it is most convenient for them. OR they may sign up to work certain dates and times throughout the summer. Volunteers will receive one entry form for a prize drawing for every hour worked. Any questions please contact Christine.email@example.com
