During World War II, American Legionnaire Marck Webster’s late Mom collected military patches from many of the young men and women who had graduated high school with her.During the War, they served in the US armed forces around the world and she sewed their patches on a piece of blue cloth as they arrived in the mail. The result is a unique memorial to the service and sacrifices of these heroic Americans. Research conducted by the Veterans History Museum at the Lamouree-Hackett Post 72 American Legion has revealed the diverse character of the units which the patches represent. Come to Starr Library and join our discussion of service between 1941 and 1945 on land, on sea and in the air, in combat, support, training and research and development; all in the cause of liberty and peace.
