Local artist Wendy Simon created a novel bringing her whimsical cartoon taxidermy characters to life. As a full time mixed media artist she spends her days sculpting animals with unique personalities. What better way to bring them to life than on the page? She will be giving a book talk on her new book, "Discovering Perhaps" at Noon in Harry's, located on the lower level. No registration required.

Book Description:

If a rat looked up at you and asked for his hat back, what would you do? Violet faces that and much more in Discovering Perhaps, the first novel set in the world of Perhaps.

In a quiet Midwestern town, Violet returns home from college to find her father trapped in the clutches of alcoholism, mired in his grief and apathetic toward everyone and everything. As she reflects on how to heal their broken relationship, fate intervenes when she stumbles upon a hidden portal in the nearby woods, transporting her to an enchanted land where animals speak and amazing adventures lie ahead.
Violet discovers she has a destiny to fulfill that pits her and her newfound friends against an evil set on destroying the kingdom.
"Discovering Perhaps" is a captivating journey of courage, self-discovery, and the transformative force of love. Follow Violet as she embarks on a quest to save a magical world, discovering the true essence of home, family, and the limitless possibilities awaiting those who dare to explore.

If you enjoy stories like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and a sprinkle of Coraline step into Violet's world. This story will whisk you through a modern adventure with a dash of love and a portal fantasy experience you won't want to put down.
