Alden Finholm is the Community Preservation Specialist for Indiana Landmarks' Western Regional Office. Born in Denver, Colorado, Alden's passion for architectural history led her to South Carolina. There she attended the College of Charleston and received her bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation and Community Planning. Alden works to identify endangered historic structures within the 17-county region of Western Indiana and determine strategies to preserve them. She provides aid to local preservation commissions, government officials, and other individuals interested in preserving historic structures. Her goal is to promote appreciation and understanding of old buildings to help communities gain a sense of place and connection to their surroundings.
