Local artist Grace Gouveia will lead us in creating Art Journals on August 19, 1:30-3:30 p.m. You could say that these journals are where bookbinding meets scrapbooking. We will learn how to sew signatures (a signature refers to a section of paper) into a book cover, to create our own book from scratch. We will embellish our journals with stamps, stencils, paint, ink, gold, colored paper, and photos from magazines and withdrawn books. This should be an interesting and fun art class for teens and adults, and patrons will be able to take home their custom art journal. This is a free class, and registration is required.
