Join us for our first Advancing Racial Equity/Project Lit book discussion. We will be reading the NY Times Bestseller This is My America by Kim Johnson. The book discussion will be held Thursday, October 8 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom, and is a free event open to all ages. This is My America is from a author Kim Johnson. According to her website, kcjohnsonwrites.com, she is a college educator and mentor to students who inspired the novel. The title soared to the NY Times Bestseller list and has been nominated for the Young Adult Librarian Association Best Fiction for Young Adults 2021 list.

America is the story of Tracy, a strong-willed teenager determined to help free her innocent father from prison and death row. She writes several letters to Innocence X, a nonprofit law firm, requesting help. When another murder occurs, Tracy’s brother stands accused. Now she must working to free her dad and rescue her brother from the same fate.  This is an “edge-of-your” seat read as Tracy unravels the mystery and many long-held town secrets.
