“Growing Stronger Together: A Celebration of Oxford County’s Past” (ZOOM/VIRTUAL Registration required)
Online via Zoom

Saturday, May 31, 1:00pm

Join us for the second of four Local History Speaker Series events this year about the history of Oxford County.

During the COVID pandemic, Oxford County Archives started their first Blog to share interesting stories about Oxford’s past. Over the years, as more and more articles were added, it became apparent that they had the makings of an amazing book on local history. With the assistance of local contributors, the Archives is proud to present its latest publication Growing Stronger Together: A Celebration of Oxford County’s Past to commemorate Oxford County’s 175th anniversary since incorporation. Please join Oxford County Archivist Liz Dommasch as she shares some fascinating stories from the new book related to people, events, and communities within Oxford County over the last 150+ years.

Sorry, but registration for this Zoom event has closed.

The presentation will run for about 1 hour and then there will be some time after for Q&A. All guests are expected to follow the Oxford County Library’s Code of Conduct.

If this is your first time using Zoom, or perhaps your first time in a long while, it is recommended that you review this short tutorial video on Zoom’s website. Note that we’ve configured the meeting room so that participants may join via a direct invitation link, so the 0:12 to 1:20 portion of the video will be most applicable.

We intend to begin streaming at 1pm or soon after. Should you encounter any Zoom issues, please refer to Zoom’s online support page for guidance. Please note that library staff will not be available to help resolve Zoom problems over the phone.

If you would like to experience ths Zoom event with captioning, and you've joined a Zoom meeting using the Zoom application (as opposed to joining via browser), you can activate Zoom's captioning tool by clicking the "captions" icon ("CC" in a rectangle) in your meeting controls toolbar (the ribbon with all the tool icons on it). To make captions text larger, click the arrow icon (/\) next to the captions icon, click "Caption settings", and then move the slider to adjust the text's size. You may click here for full instructions on viewing captioning (scroll down to the subsection, "How to view captioning").

This event will not be recorded, and audio and/or video recording of the event is strictly prohibited.
