June is a great month to celebrate brides with Karen (Ren) Antonowicz of Spirits of Fashion
Travel through time to learn about the clothing of past eras and discover how people lived and dressed. We'll enter the world of brides from the past and learn about what they wore during their first day of marriage. We will discuss both celebrity and royal weddings, as well as the less famous brides. Ren's knowledge and presentation including vintage videos will help to bring these weddings to life. Don't miss this glamorous foray into former wedding finery! Wedding gowns will be on display. Registration is recommended.
About the presenter:
Karen (Ren) Antonowicz received her Master’s Degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, and Design, with a concentration in Historic Costume & Textiles from the University of RI. She then taught History of Fashion and other courses for over 13 years. She and her husband also ran an antique and colectiles shop in Providence, RI for five years. Ren started Spirits of Fashion to follow her passion for historic costume by conducting fashion era presentations, such as “The Fashions of Downton Abbey” at libraries, senior centers, schools, historical societies, and historic homes.
