Join Planet Seniors host Rita Vanacore for a primer on how to get more involved in advocating for the issues you care about at the local, state, and federal levels.
About the Speaker:
Rita Vanacore created the “Planet Seniors” radio show in dedication to the idea that senior citizens are valuable members of our community whose voices should be given just as much “air time” as everyone else's. She has been a business owner in Uptown Kingston for forty years. She is the co-owner of Dream Weavers Salon and Dominick’s Cafe both located on North Front street. During this time, she has also been an educator for professionals in her service profession and is the recipient of numerous national awards for her contributions to the industry. Rita is very active in her community not only by, previously, serving on her local school board but by actively campaigning for women’s rights, gay rights and children’s health issues. She has also actively worked and continues to work within the Uptown business community to help in the revival of that area.
