INN - Invasive Alien
INN - Invasive Aliens in Your Garden

Thursday, Mar. 27, 7:00 to 8:00 PM
If you have a backyard, you'll want to hear Elizabeth Spedaliere, as she helps us to identify and control invasive plants species you might have there! Not being native to our own ecosystem, these plants can cause serious harm to our environment, economy, or even human health. These plants tend to spread rapidly via seed or rhizomes and out compete native plants for resources, leading to a reduction in diversity. This often has a cascading effect on the ecosystem, affecting animals and other organisms that rely on native plants for food and habitat. Invasive plants do untold damage to Ontario’s natural areas, displacing native plants and overtaking sensitive habitats. Don't miss this informative event to help you identify and control these unwanted plants, and hear Elizabeth's suggestions for native alternatives. Registration is not required.
