In 2023 our party's candidate for Dutchess County Executive was US Navy Veteran, author and Marist professor Tommy Zurhellen  "just a guy who wants to help people.” In January of this year Tommy's memoir about the race, The High Road: Following the Campaign Trail for a Kinder America was published. Tommy has dedicated his life to service, from the Navy to education, always leading with kindness, integrity,  and advocating for those who serve and those in need. Tommy created VetZero to ensure that veterans in Dutchess County receive the services they need. VetZero provides transportation for veterans, including over three thousand free rides across the county. Homeless veterans are employed by VetZero. He will have copies of his book for a suggested donation of $22.00 (cash or check) with all proceeds going directly to support Hudson River Housing Vet/Zero Program.
