CCGS: What Killed Your Ancestors?

Are you having trouble deciphering your ancestors’ death certificates? Do you have an interest in 19th century medical practices? Learn more about the health and medical experiences of your ancestors with medical historian Sarah Halter. Halter will talk about where to find historical medical information and how to interpret it in her presentation, “What Killed Your Ancestors?”

 

Halter is the executive director of the Indiana Medical History Museum, located on the grounds of the former Central State Hospital in Indianapolis. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Southern Association for the History of Medicine and Science and is a member of the John Shaw Billings History of Medicine Society at the Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine, the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies at IU Indianapolis and the Youth Enhancement and Training Initiative.
