A highly biggoted 1925 Army War College report stated that African American men were of little value in times of war. This session tells the story of how a group of black men proved they could take down enemy aircraft abroad and racial barriers at home.
Discussion topics include: How did the work of the Tuskegee Airmen change attitudes about Black Americans in the military? How do today’s racial tensions compare to those during the time of the Tuskegee Airmen? What lessons can we learn from the experiences of the Tuskegee Airmen?
