After several years’ hiatus, and in partnership with People’s Book, the Takoma Park Maryland Library will once again host a Mock Caldecott program!

Who?
Elementary-aged children, their families, and community members of all ages.

What?
A fun, critical, and educational exploration of picture books eligible to win the 2025 Caldecott Medal.

Where?
The Library’s interim location: 7505 New Hampshire Avenue, Suite 205.

When?
Sundays at 3:00 PM:

• November 17th

• December 8th

• December15th

• January 12th (Final deliberation and voting!)

Come to any or all of the meetings!

How?
Attend in-person to evaluate and discuss the books. Enjoy refreshments!

Reserve copies of the picture books are available to browse while visiting the library - ask at the circulation desk!

Who will facilitate?
Sylvie Shaffer, local children's literature extraordinaire, and our very own visual artist and librarian, Dave Burbank, will facilitate this program!
