Syracuse Public Library’s Adult Book Club will read “Rift,” a memoir by Cait West.
Raised in the Christian patriarchy movement, Cait West was homeschooled and could only wear clothes her father deemed modest. There would be no college in her future, no career. She was a stay-at-home daughter and would move out only when her father allowed her to become a wife. She was trained to serve men, and her life would never be her own. Until she escaped.
A discussion will occur at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the library’s downstairs meeting room. During the discussion, members will virtually meet the author and be able to ask questions.
Copies are available at the library. Digital e-book copies are available on Hoopla and Libby.
