Block Printed Scarves
Cranbury Public Library

Thursday, May 1, 6:30pm
Celebrate Asian American Heritage Month by learning about the ancient Indian art of block printing. This art has been around since at least the 12th century, although some estimates say it has been around for 2,000 years!

In this hands-on workshop, each participant will receive a white pure cotton "dupatta" or a long scarf and a hand-carved wood block to make their own beautiful creation. Participants will learn about the history of Indian print making and the technique of block printing while making your own scarf. Best of all, at the end of the workshop you can walk out wearing a beautiful scarf or with a gift for a friend or a loved one!

Registration Required. Cranbury Public Library cardholders only. Space is limited. Meeting Rooms 1&2. Adult program, open to interested teens as well.

Cranbury Public Library Cards can be obtained by visiting the Cranbury Public Library and presenting ID with proof of Cranbury residency. Non resident library cards are also available for a fee.
