During our 2024 Great Decision series, we had many discussions about conflicts and challenges around the world, that fundamentally centered on “democracy and freedom”. But someone raised the question: Do we all define democracy and freedom in the same manner? Join us in this bonus conversation session where each may share and explore what these core principles are and what they mean to you.  
 
The session will be facilitated by Mara Suttmann-Lea, Ph.D.; associate professor of American politics at Connecticut College specializing in elections, and a 2024-2026 Andrew Carnegie Fellow. She is a founder of the podcast What Voting Means to Me, which features interviews with people from different walks of life about their experiences living in a democracy, and conversations with scholars and election officials about what can be done to improve the health of American democracy.
