The Musicals of Jerry Herman
Virtual Program
Monday, Nov. 18, 7pm
Jerry Herman was not an innovator like some of his contemporaries, but he wrote good-old-fashioned Broadway musicals. His works were instantly recognizable tunes, and are a throwback to an earlier era in Broadway. Herman had three massive hits, Hello, Dolly!, Mame and La Cage aux Folles, which ensured his place as one of the greats of the second half of the 20th Century. Even his lesser shows have memorable songs which remain favorites and continue to entertain. Join Marc Courtade as he discusses Herman and his beloved musicals.
