INN - Wheat Weaving
Thursday, Oct. 10, 5:30 to 6:30pm
Take part in an traditional craft that turns and twists stems of wheat, turning them into little gems of woven wonders! Typically know as 'corn dollies' throughout Britain and much of Europe (where wheat was often known as corn), these hark back centuries to pagan times when the dollies were created from "the last sheaf of harvest, to house the life spirit over winter. In spring, the dollies were burnt and the ashes spread before ploughing, giving rebirth to life and fertility." How you make use of your own item is up to you, whether to do likewise, admire yourself, or share with someone else. Likely best suited for ages 8 and above.
