TIL - Book Collecting for Beginners
Saturday, Oct. 5, 1:30pm
Celebrate Archives Month by joining us on October 5th, 1:30-3:30pm, for this special, one-time event! Delivered by the OCL's Matthew Griffis, a former professor of library science, this session will teach you the technical terms and concepts necessary for identifying, acquiring, and preserving rare and collectible modern books.
Ages 13 and older only. This event will be held in the Program Room of the Tillsonburg Library. Registration for this event is required and opens August 27th. This event will not be recorded nor will there be an online option.
Note: Although the presenter is a former teacher of rare books and bibliography, he is not a professsional appraiser of rare books or related collectibles and cannot provide opinions about the monetary worth or value of any specific item. Part of this session will cover the kinds of resources available to collectors who wish to assess the potential monetary or collector's value of their rare books.
