TIL - Local History Speaker Series: A Talk with Robyn Michaud (IN PERSON Registration)

With the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation around the corner, Robyn Michaud – Glendale High School graduate, educator, and now Professor of Indigenous Studies at Conestoga College – will discuss her family history in the context of cultural assimilation and reflect on her personal journey reclaiming her identity and culture. Michaud, who grew up in Tillsonburg, is Anishinaabe Kwe, Bear Clan from Sagamok Anishinabek First Nation. Her presentation will include a Jingle Dance demonstration.

This entry is for the in person event in the Tillsonburg Library Program Room. Click on "Register" (above) to reserve your seat. If your plans change after registering and you cannot attend the event, please email mgriffis@ocl.net ASAP to request a cancellation and your spot will be filled from the wait list.

The Program Room doors will open at 6:40pm or just after; the presentation will run for about 1 hour and then there will be some time after for Q&A. All guests are expected to follow the Oxford County Library’s Code of Conduct.

Participants who attend the event in person are advised that a video camera and audio equipment will run for the duration of the presentation (for Zoom purposes). Although the camera will not focus on audience members, microphones will likely pick up the  discussion at the presentation's conclusion and share it via Zoom.

Any other photography, audio and/or video recording of the event is strictly prohibited.
