SEEING: Photowalk and Workshop
Land Gallery

Saturday, Sep. 21, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Gallery owner Jane Haslam will be leading a photowalk in the Village of Pawling on Saturday, September 21st in partnership with the Pawling Library.

The workshop is open to all and will be focused on finding composition in an everyday environment. Participants will meet at LAND Gallery for a brief presentation before taking a walk around the Village Farmers Market to put the ideas into action. The workshop will then conclude back at the Gallery with a short discussion about the experience and opportunities.

About our presenter: Jane Haslam's Photography has been a fixture in the Village of Pawling since 2014 and the craft has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. She is originally from Derbyshire in the UK and for many years she maintained her own darkroom, photographing the postindustrial landscape around her home and mainly working in black and white. In those formative years she particularly admired the work of British photographers Fay Godwin and Bill Brandt, as well as that of iconic American landscape photographer, Ansel Adams. With the advent of digital photography and finding herself out of work, her focus totally shifted and she set up in business in the North of England, providing wedding, event and sports photography services. In 2009 she married Nate, an American citizen and emigrated to the United States. She has lived and owned a photography business in the Hudson Valley ever since.

NOTE: There is a program fee of $10.00 per person.
