At their October meet-ups, All Booked Up will discuss A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail, in which humorist and travel writer Bill Bryson attempts a “terribly misguided and terribly funny” (The Washington Post) hike of the 2100-mile Appalachian trail, with only a friend and some recently-purchased hiking gear. Along the way, they’ll encounter oddball hikers, hazardous terrain, and wild animals, while introducing readers to the history of the trail and highlighting the importance of protecting America’s wild places.
