Dia De Los Muertos Ofrenda Event in Partnership with The Sugar Skull Art Walk & Arts and Culture El Dorado
Wednesday, Oct. 25, 4:00pm-6:30pm
The Placerville Library will be holding a Dia De Los Muertos event where we will gather to decorate the Library’s Ofrenda created in partnership with the Sugar Skull Art Walk and Arts and Culture El Dorado.
The event will feature poetry and performances by Lara Gularte, El Dorado County’s poet Laureate emeritus, writer Estela Victoria-Cordero, highly acclaimed bilingual poet and writer Zheyla Henriksen, and spoken word poet Rina Wakefield of Myrtle Tree Arts Collective.
We will open the festivities with free Dia De Los Muertos themed face painting by local artist Rebecca Billingsley of Rabbit Hole Studio.
Face painting will start at 4:00 and additional readings and performances will begin at 4:30, an open mic to follow.
