This outdoor concert by the beloved local legion band is free and open to the public!

• We will set up near the library's lower entrance.

2023 Season Soloists

John Barath (trumpet) has been playing trumpet since the 5th grade.  He holds a B.S. degree in Music Education from West Virginia University.  Mr. Barath retired from IBM after 32 years of service.  He enjoys actively performing with the Big Band Sound, The Big Blue Big Band, the Rhinebeck Legion Band, and the Saugerties Community Band.  In addition to trumpet, Mr. Barath plays piano and performs with various local community theater groups.

Zachary Povall (guest conductor) has been a member of the Rhinebeck Legion Band playing clarinet and bass clarinet since 2017.  He holds a B.M. in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia.  Zach served as a Clinician at the 2020 NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester, NY, and he performs with the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra.  Currently Zach is employed by the Marlboro Central School District as a Band and General Music Teacher at Marlboro Elementary School, and as the Marlboro High School Pit Director where he enjoys mixing his love for music and theater.
