For middle grades and high school readers. This is an in-person get-together to have fun and talk about our favorite books and authors. We'll meet outside under the Sycamore tree. A loose theme for this month might be Journeys- have you read any books where the main character makes a difficult journey or undertakes a quest?
Please REGISTER so we have enough snacks for everyone.
Speaking of journeys: this is a great book to listen to- not required but you might give it a try!
Homer's The Odyssey, adapted by Gillian Cross
Multi-award-winning author Gillian Cross makes two of the greatest stories in the world come alive for children in her strong, clear, deceptively simple retellings of the Iliad and The Odyssey, which are faithful to the spirit and structure of Homer's epic poems. These are
available free in audio format on Hoopla via the library's website. Listen to a great introduction, and then skip ahead to The Odyssey- or listen to both if you like!
