For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons  and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services. All money raised by the Friends (including membership dues) is given back to the library.

Membership
Membership is currently free. Please consider joining us to support our amazing library and have fun doing it. 
If you're interested, join online, print off a membership form, or ask for a membership form next time you're at the library. 

Meetings
Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August 2020) at 6:00 pm, typically held in the Technology Training Lab on the second floor of the library. Some meetings may be held virtually.
Tabletop Role-Playin

Adventure is a bike ride away in Kids on Bikes, a storytelling, rules-light tabletop role-playing game. This collaborative, world-building RPG is set in a small town with big mysteries. Players take on roles of everyday teens grappling strange, terrifying, and powerful forces.

Come and join us online as we create our own band of rag-tag mystery solvers! All skill levels welcome! This program is intended for children and teens in grades 6-8. Registration is Required. The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library.  The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. When you register for this Take Out program, you will receive materials to create a pretend Train Station. We'll provide the themed materials, you provide the glue, scissors, crayons, and your imagination. Once you and your child(ren) have created your Train Station, enjoy pretend play!

This program is geared towards children ages 3-6. Only one family member needs to register since each family will receive one kit. Library staff will email registrants when your materials are ready for pickup.

Registration is Required. Registration opens Monday, December 7th and closes on Friday, December 18th.

Teens, read any winter or holiday-themed book and we'll give you a hot chocolate mix and candy cane prize! Simply submit the title of the book you have read when registering, and library staff will send you an email to let you know how to pick up your prize.

This program is geared towards teens. Registration is Required. Registration opens Tuesday, December 1st and closes on Saturday, December 19. The last day to pick up prizes will be Saturday, January 2nd.

Are you ready for some winter movie fun? When you register for this Take Out program, you'll receive a box of materials to create a pretend Drive-In Movie Theater and your train to sit in! We'll provide the materials, you provide the glue, scissors, and crayons. Once you and your child have created their fire truck and prepared the Drive-In, enjoy pretend play and a movie of your choice!

Library staff will email you when your materials are ready for pickup. If you need a movie, feel free to check out the library's DVD collection or our digital movie collection on Hoopla. Please register each child individually so that we know how many movie kits you need.

This program is intended for children ages 2-6 years old. Registration is required. Registration opens Monday, December 14th and closes on Wednesday, December 23rd.
